The aircraft climbed to a cruising altitude of FL160 which it reached at 11:56 EST. About The plane was descending around one hour and fifteen minutes later when it reportedly nose dived into the ground.

دو دانشجوی خلبانی در اثر وقوع یك سانحه هوایی دلخراش در نیوزلند كشته شدند.
به گزارش رویترز ، در این سانحه كه در نورث ایلند نیوزلند به وقوع پیوست ، دو هواپیمای آموزشی در اسمان بایكدیگر برخورد كرده و هر دو خلبان آن در دم كشته شدند.
به گفته مقامات نیوزلیند این حادثه دقیقا در نزدیكی شهر شانون در 100 كیلومتری پایتخت این كشور ویلینگتون رویداد.
این هواپیما ها متعلق به مدرسه هوانوردی دانشگاه میسی بودند و دانشجویان آن در حال تمرین و فراگرفتن تكنیك های رژه هوایی بودند.

Two Air Cargo Carriers Shorts 360 cargo planes, N372AC and N3735W, departed Milwaukee (MKE) for a photo flight. Both aircraft collided in flight near Watertown. N3735W crashed into a field southeast of the intersection of Highway Q and Highway 19 and caught fire. The other Shorts carried out a forced landing at Juneau-Dodge County Airport, WI (UNU) where it skidded off the runway.

یكی از شركت های نیویورك موفق به ارائه سرویس آنلاینی شد كه در مسافرت های هوایی مسافران هم فكر را در كنار هم قرار می دهد تا سفربهتری داشته باشند. 

این سرویس آنلاین Air Traduction نام دارد. مسافران بااستفاده از این سرویس بصورت آنلاین ثبت نام می كنند، و سپس ویژگی های شخصی خود را در پروفایل ثبت می كنند، زمانیكه مسافران برنامه سفر خود را پست كردند مسئول ثبت اطلاعاتی را درباره افرادیكه با همان پرواز مسافرت می كنند در اختیار مسافر قرار می دهد.
ثبت نام در این سرویس رایگان است، اما در صورتیكه كاربر قصد برقراری تماس با همسفر خود را داشته باشد باید 5 دلار برای هرتماس بپردازد. معمولا این افراد در فرودگاه یكدیگر را ملاقات می كنند تا بتوانند ترتیبات لازم را برای نشستن دردو صندلی مجاورهم را بدهند. تاكنون 4500 نفر در این سرویس ثبت نام كرده اند با این حال تنها 60 نفر از آنها توانستند همسفر مناسب خود را بیابند. این سرویس از پاییز پارسال كارخود را آغاز كرده است.
این سیستم به مسافران اجازه می دهد حتی اگر دوست ندارند با همسفر خود صحبت و گفتگویی داشته باشند این نكته را ذكر كنند.

شركت‌های هواپیمایی جهان بزودی به یك برنامه رایانه‌ای تجهیز می‌شوند كه با استفاده از آن، مسافران می‌توانند بدون نیاز به رفتن به فرودگاه، از طریق اینترنت، صندلی خود را در هواپیما تعیین و كارت پرواز را در خانه خویش دریافت كنند.

به گزارش بخش خبر شبكه فن آوری اطلاعات ایران،از ایرنا، این برنامه توسط شركت هواپیمایی "ایبریا" اسپانیا در چهل و پنجمین نمایشگاه بین‌المللی انفورماتیك و ارتباطات موسوم به "سیمو ‪ "۲۰۰۵‬در مادرید به نمایش گذاشته شد.

با این برنامه، مسافران می‌توانند تنها با وارد كردن شماره بلیط خود در صفحه اینترنتی شركت هواپیمایی، تصویر صندلی‌های هواپیما را روی رایانه خود مشاهده و صندلی خود را در داخل هواپیما انتخاب كنند.

آنان این امكان را دارند كه در خانه، كارت پرواز خود را نیز از طریق اینترنت دریافت كنند و به این صورت، دیگر نیازی نخواهد بود مسافران دو ساعت قبل از پرواز در صف‌های طولانی در فرودگاهها، منتظر دریافت این كارت شوند.

برنامه به گونه‌ای طراحی شده است كه مسافر با ارایه كارت اینترنتی مزبور به مسوولان فرودگاه و تطبیق آن با مشخصات وی، بتواند بسرعت سوار هواپیما شود.

یكی از مسوولان شركت ایبریا به خبرنگار ایرنا در مادرید گفت: این برنامه هم‌اكنون از سوی این شركت به اجرا گذاشته شده است و مسافران بزودی درخواهند یافت كه با این سیستم، تشریفات پروازی آنان بسیار كوتاه خواهدشد.

وی افزود: این سیستم بیشتر برای كسانی كاربرد دارد كه نیازی به تحویل چمدان به قسمت بار هواپیما ندارند.

به گفته این مسوول شركت هواپیمایی، امروزه اكثر افرادی كه در اروپا برای تعطیلات آخر هفته خود مسافرت می‌كنند، تنها یك كوله‌پشتی یا ساك كوچك به همراه دارند كه می‌توانند آن را داخل هواپیما ببرند.

وی خاطرنشان كرد: با اجرای سیستم جدید، كار كسانی كه قصد تحویل چمدان و بار خود به هواپیما را دارند، نیز تسریع خواهد شد زیرا از شمار كسانی كه در صف دریافت كارت پرواز قرار دارند، كاسته می‌شود.

"If we have to go out the door to a conflict that starts tomorrow, we're going to take the Raptor with us," said Gen. Ronald Keys, head of Air Combat Command, at Langley Air Force Base.

The Raptor has reached "initial operational capability," the Air Force said Thursday, meaning it is certified as ready to fight and supported by a properly trained and equipped force. It also means the aircraft is qualified to fly homeland defense missions, officials said.

The Air Force says the fighter will ensure America's air dominance for years to come.

Critics, however, say the Raptor is too expensive at a time when U.S. combat aircraft already dominate the skies, and that it was designed for a high-tech enemy that no longer exists — the Soviet Union.

Previously designated the F/A-22, the Raptor was intended primarily as a stealthy replacement for the F-15 Eagle, which was built to shoot down other planes. Unlike its predecessor, the Raptor can fly at supersonic speeds for long distances.

The Raptor is the most expensive aircraft in the Air Force's inventory, said Doug Karas, an Air Force spokesman in Washington.

The most recent Raptors, not including research and development, cost about $133 million each to produce, he said. With research, development and testing, the cost is about $350 million per aircraft, he said.

So far, the Air Force has 56 Raptors, including training and test fighters, at Langley, Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida and Edwards Air Force Base in California. The current budget plans include about 180, and the Air Force wants more, Karas said.

Twelve jets will head to Alaska in June for their first routine peacetime exercise deployment, Keys said. The first combat-ready Raptors are flying with the 27th Fighter Squadron of the 1st Fighter Wing, at Langley.

Analyst John Pike called the Raptor "the greatest air-to-air fighter plane ever built."

"You've got an airplane that the enemy cannot see that ... can maneuver around the sky very quickly," said Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.org, a research center on security issues. "You just would not want to go up against it because you would know that you would lose."

It's too soon to tell whether the Raptor will be worth the expense, though, Pike said.

"You do have to wonder who we're going to use it against," he said.

Qantas A380 delivery delayed
 
Delivery of Qantas’ 12 A380s has been delayed by at least six months, according to a report in The Australian newspaper.

The aircraft manufacturer will have to pay penalties to the airline for the delay.

The A380s will now start to be delivered in April 2007.

Production of the entire A380 program has been delayed.

Singapore Airlines was expecting delivery of its 10 A380 aircraft in July next year, but will now have to wait until the fourth quarter.

Emirates’ 45 A380s were due for delivery in October next year, but will now arrive in the second quarter of 2007.

Airbus claimed it had experienced difficulties in customising the aircraft for individual airlines.

Qantas wants to place the aircraft on the routes from Melbourne and Sydney to the US as well as on the kangaroo route.
